BENEFITS OF TMS

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF TMS?

The procedure has several distinct advantages:

  • TMS is an outpatient treatment. It is performed without hospitalization
  • The patient remains awake during the entire treatment
  • The treatment has no adverse side effects
  • The patient can talk, listen to music, or just relax and sleep during treatment
  • TMS is not invasive. It is an effective and harmless treatment
  • The treatment does not require the patient to receive anesthesia
  • Improvement in the patient’s condition is very fast. In the case of depression, visible improvement is expected by approximately the seventh day


    DOES TMS HAVE SIDE EFFECTS?

    The most frequently experienced side effect of TMS is a mild headache that responds to a dose of acetaminophen. This is reported in only 10-15% of our patients.

    WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR TREATMENT?

    TMS is not ideal for:

  • Patients with epilepsy
  • Patients with multiple sclerosis
  • Patients with pacemakers
  • Patents with metal plates or devices implanted in their skull that would be affected by the magnetic fields of the machine
